The Anchan Laboratory is focused on the translational approach to research aimed at treating gynecological diseases and developing innovative hormone and fertility therapies. Many aspects of our research are aimed towards utilizing adult cells that can be reprogrammed to assume a stem cell-like state, called induced pluripotent stem cells. Our goal is to better understand the behavior and development of induced pluripotent stem cells, so that we can utilize them in our studies aimed at developing potential therapeutic applications in women’s health. We hope that our research provides models for developing treatments for women who have premature ovarian insufficiency, as well as for better understanding and treating gynecological and neurological diseases, such as uterine fibroids and endometriosis.
